While Château Margaux’s 1961 was the top wine of the flight, I have had greater bottles. Nevertheless, this was a superb example boasting a dark plum/garnet color with some amber at the edge, a remarkable fragrance filled with flowers, black currants, cedar, and spice, a big, expansive mouthfeel, and a long finish with a touch of hard tannin evident.
