1979 Petrus – Hedonist’s Gazette, December 2006:I have tasted the 1979 Petrus on several occasions and this was easily the best bottle. Dark ruby in color and showing almost no age, the aromatics at this point in the wines development are sensational both in complexity and intensity. Medium-to full-bodied, the wine is virtually seamless with layers of sweet ripe fruit and enough structure to carry the wine for another 20+ years. The finish lasts for well over a minute.
