Sensory :

In the glass, this Sauvignon Blanc shines a deep straw hue. The bouquet bursts with pineapple and comice pear, soon unfolding to reveal honeydew melon, white nectarine, honeysuckle, passion fruit, kiwi, vanilla, and a delicate touch of lemongrass. On the palate, zesty flavors of pomelo, lemon juice, tangerine, grapefruit, pear, and passion fruit intermingle with a subtle mineral streak and a lightly creamy texture. The bright acidity carries the wine through to a crisp, lingering finish, perfectly balancing green varietal notes with ripe tropical expression.

Winemaker’s Background:

Barlow Vineyards has been family-owned and operated since Warren and Jeanne Smith purchased their Napa Valley estate in 1994. Originally farmers, they were encouraged by winemaker Art Finklestein to bottle their estate Cabernet Sauvignon, which quickly sold out and marked the beginning of their winegrowing legacy. Today, the estate remains firmly in family hands, with Barr and Ann Smith leading operations alongside the third generation, Alyssa and Zachary, who continue to nurture the land and build the brand. Farming and family remain at the heart of Barlow Vineyards, with the fourth generation already learning the ropes in the vineyard.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve chilled at 8–10 °C to highlight the wine’s crisp acidity and layered aromatics. It pairs beautifully with fresh oysters, seared scallops, grilled shrimp, goat cheese salads, or lighter vegetarian dishes like asparagus risotto. For a more casual occasion, enjoy it as a refreshing aperitif on a warm afternoon.

The 2023 Barlow Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc is a refreshing yet complex white that reflects both Napa Valley’s terroir and the Smith family’s dedication to crafting wines with personality and integrity.
