Casks made from rare Mizunara hardwood are a true work of art. The wood is meticulously cut, and the barrels carefully raised due to the wood’s characteristics. Mizunara finishing imparts subtle notes of sandalwood, herbal spice, and coconut to bourbon, and precision is required to craft a harmonious blend. This cask finish bourbon was expertly blended using multiple mash bills finished in Mizunara casks for one and a half years. Blend Components: Indiana Bourbon whiskeys: 6, 7, & 9 years old, Kentucky Bourbon whiskeys: 8 years old, Tennessee Bourbon whiskeys: 8 & 14 years old.Flavor Notes: An Invigorating nose of fresh strawberry and white peach interweaves with sugar cookies and toasted corn. Vibrant notes of lemongrass and peppermint hit the palate first, then transform to a deep sweetness of Medjool dates followed by an enthralling citrus and woodsy earthiness.

The robust palate spotlights rich toffee, plus hints of espresso and dark chocolate. Adding water teases out lush milk chocolate and hazelnut. Each sip finishes lightly, with a gentle cinnamon and cayenne glow. This is a blend of straight bourbons from Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee, aged an average of six years and finished in mizunara oak for another year and a half.

The dry, aromatic nose is somewhat closed but aridly pleasant. On the palate, vanilla and jammy red berries are sprinkled with pepper spice and fragrant drying oak, creating balance. The finish is the best part —long, spicy, and earthy, with dark chocolate, tiramisu, and cinnamon. There is pronounced dryness here from the oak influence, but the flavors emerge after a time, even if they’re somewhat constricted.
